The Meadows Village reopens

The community’s much-missed retail centre made a spectacular comeback on 29 October!

20 October 2020

It was one of the community’s most cherished hangout spots, and many were sad to see Emirates Living’s oldest retail centre shut its doors over two years back – but it’s now back!

The Meadows Village opened its doors again on 29 October, having undergone a complete overhaul that’s sure to dazzle our residents. The retail centre and lifestyle destination now features a Waitrose supermarket, The Clinic by Medcare and Fitness First, as well as beauty salons, optics, dry cleaners, a pet shop, children’s shops and lakeside restaurants.

There is also a large outdoor parking area, while the strategic location next to Emirates International School ensures that it is easily accessible from all corners of Emirates Living.

The opening weekend from 29 October to 8 November witnessed a variety of fun-filled activities for families and children, including a pot painting workshop, a raffle to win 50,000 U Points (in the U By Emaar app), and opportunities to win AED 5,000 gift vouchers from the Waitrose supermarket.

Lighting up your driveway

30 September

Night-time drives through Reem have become an even more illuminating experience, with the new wave of lighting enhancements we’ve installed in the community!

  • 148 palm trees have been fitted with ring lights.
  • The fixtures comprise nearly 600 LEDs.
  • We’ve used energy efficient bulbs rated at just 4W each.
  • The lights feature projector bulbs that shine focused beams along the length of the entire tree.

The new lights adorn the route from the Al Qudra entrance to the roundabout before the entrance to Mira and Mira Oasis.

Your library is ready for sundown reading

25 September 2020

If you can’t take your eyes off your book even after the sun goes down and would like to read in the outdoors, we’ve got news!

– There are two 200W wide-angle LEDs mounted on the poles at opposite corners to light up the entire amenity.

– The lights are solar-powered so they don’t add to the community’s energy consumption.

Prefer reading in the day, but put off by the heat? We’ve got that covered too, with the two solar-powered misting fans that help keep you cool.

Remember, the library runs on your contributions so it would be great if you’ve got any books in good condition that you’d like to share with your neighbours!

Taking a book home? Just remember to sanitise and return it when you’re done.

The library is located next to the lake behind the Arno community, and is open from 7 AM to 11 PM.
