Mosque refurbishments

A mosque is so much more than a simple house of worship. It is a precious sanctuary that provides a place for individual enlightenment, education and moral guidance.

The three large mosques in Emirates Living – Al Samad mosque next to The Meadows Souk, Al Waheed Mosque next to The Springs Souk, Al Wahab Mosque next to Emirates International School – underwent a massive updo including several upgrades. Here is a gist:

  • Safety comes first, so we went ahead and installed brand new handrails and footrails at ablution rooms.
  • Shiny new mirrors have been installed at the ablution rooms.
  • New windows and tiles have replaced worn out and damaged ones.
  • Walls and staircases were given a fresh coat of paint.
  • Damaged windows were repaired and reinforced in the minaret.

Green acres for Arabian Ranches

Arabian Ranches is back with more landscaping additions to enrich the community greenery to benefit our residents. Let us introduce you to our fresh additions:

The old trees that were decaying and posed a safety hazard has been replaced with:

Azadirachta Indica: Commonly known as Neem tree. Possessing white fragrant flowers, this plant has amazing anti-oxidant and medicinal properties and is widely used in Ayurvedic treatments including acne, athlete’s foot, and diabetes.

Azadirachta indica

Delonix

Delonix regia: Also known Gulmohar, it is one of the most beautiful trees in the world with its bright green leaves and vibrant flowers in the scarlet and orange spectrum. Not just pretty, it’s useful too – the wood is used for fuel and the seeds are used in the tanning industry.

These new flowering plants will grace the streetscape.

Jetropha: is an evergreen shrub or small tree with glossy leaves and clusters of star shaped bright scarlet flowers. This flowering plant is used in basketmaking and dye production. They produce yellow blooms in clusters that can thrive is extreme heat and arid conditions.

Jetropha

Bougainvillea: These tropical vine-like shrubs are drought tolerant, love the sun, and pack a punch of colour. The bright pink offerings are the leaves, the actual flowers of this plant are small and white.

Ruellia: These are ornamental plants, commonly known as wild petunias. The funnel-shaped flowers are the primary draw for many of the species and are often attractively marked as well.

An elegant entry

Brace yourself for spectacular drives through columns of ‘enlightened’ palm trees, every time you enter your community!

• 88 palm trees have been fitted with LED ring-lights.

• They’ve been fixed mid-way up the tree, with lights shining up and down the bark.

• The fixtures comprise over 180 LEDs – they’re energy efficient too, rated at just 4W each.

• Despite the very low wattage, the projector bulbs maximize internal reflections to focus long, powerful beams.

The close of 2021 will feature these new lights along the driveway at the main entrances of the community. Stopping to snap pictures? Share them and tag your community!
