A monolithic giant screen towered over the lawn behind Springs 15 on 12 April, as Emirates Living hosted its first ever Movie Night.

12 April 2019

Residents of all ages arrived in droves for Emirates Living’s first Community Movie Night, well stocked with blankets, lawn chairs, mats and even picnic baskets as they settled down for an unforgettable screening under the stars.

With the movie beginning at 7:15, an excited buzz filled the grounds while adults and children alike picked their spots on the cool grass or one of the dozens of bean bags scattered across the venue. To complete the experience, Reel Cinemas even brought along their snack wagon – including their signature flavoured popcorn delights.

The movie for the night was the global family-favourite, Madagascar 3. The ground was punctuated by laughter and shrieks of delight as Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and the rest of the gang took their shenanigans to a whole new level. Children clapped and punched the air when Alex and the gang evaded their prisons at the end of the movie, and the clapping persisted even as the credits rolled.

A trivia quiz was held at the end of the film, with winners bagging two passes for any movie of their choice. The event was a grand success and as the curtains closed on the community’s first outdoor movie, residents were left yearning for more nights of screenings beneath the starry sky.
