22 new access ramps in Downtown Dubai

In line with Dubai’s vision to make public areas accessible for people with mobility problems, Emaar has taken on an initiative to build access ramps across its communities – with one of the most recent being the facility in the Yansoon 5 tower located in Old Town Residences, Downtown Dubai. This is one of 22 ramps that have been installed across the community.

The access ramp was officially opened by a wheelchair bound volunteer, Ms. Shobhika Kalra and Emaar Community Management. Shobika was the first to use the ramp and is working towards encouraging more organisations in Dubai to make the city wheelchair friendly through a social initiative called Wings of Angelz. She also raises awareness on social media using the hashtag #BuildARamp.

The facility can be used by residents or visitors on wheelchairs as well as people with strollers or carts.

ECM wins once again – with two awards for business excellence

ECM was announced the winner in Customer Service and in the Overall Discipline Specific category at the recently held International Business Excellence (IBX) Awards 2016. The announcement was made at an awards ceremony held at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel after a final round of presentations.

The prestigious IBX Awards recognise business excellence from around the world and drew participants from large corporate organisations. Through a combination of effective communication, world-class customer service, prompt response mechanisms, dynamic platforms such as community portals and mobile apps, we proved once again that our practices matched and surpassed international standards.

ECM wins at the Gulf Customer Experience Awards 2015

Emaar Community Management was announced the winner in the Client Relationship Management category at the Gulf Customer Experience Awards 2015, held on 20 January 2016 at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel. The announcement was made at an awards ceremony held after a presentation to the judging panel earlier in the day.

This award is special as we had leading international banks, such as HSBC, Emirates Bank and Commercial Bank of Dubai, as well as other large corporate organisations from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the Gulf.

We were judged in the Discipline Specific Category and rated on different parameters such as Business Rationale & Context, Innovative & Creative Solutions, Outstanding Customer Experience Delivered, Business Impact & Results, Customer Insight and Effective Implementation.

The key to winning this award were the several customer centric initiatives and solutions that we employ in our day-to-day operations. Through a combination of customer response management, communication and cost-effective technology, we proved we are the best in the Gulf when it comes to ensuring enhanced customer experience.

Some key factors that helped us win were our communications, ICMS, websites and community portals, newsletters and the iREPORT interface.

Building a wheelchair-friendly community

In line with Dubai’s vision to make public areas accessible for people with mobility problems, Emaar has taken on an initiative to create access ramps across its communities – with one of the most recent being the facility in the Fairways tower located in The Greens & Views community.

The access ramp was officially opened by a wheelchair bound volunteer, Ms. Shobhika Kalra, her friend, Ms. Himshikha Singh and Mr. Ahmad Al Falasi, Executive Director – Group Operations, Emaar Properties PJSC. Shobika was also the first to use the ramp and is working towards encouraging more organisations in Dubai to make the city wheelchair friendly. She also raises awareness on social media using the hashtag #Build A Ramp.

As a token of appreciation, crystal plaques were presented to Ms Singh and Ms Kalra for their support and enthusiasm towards the cause.

The facility in Fairways can be used by residents or visitors on wheelchairs as well as people with strollers or carts.

Golden Age Group gets travel discounts

The Golden Age Group in The Greens & Views community were behind yet another, first-of-its-kind initiative for senior citizens. The group, together with Emaar Community Management (ECM), worked with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and negotiated a 50% fare discount on public transportation – for all residents in Dubai over 60 years of age!

This is a major accomplishment for ECM in line with our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility. More importantly, this is the first time that such an initiative has been undertaken for the expatriate population in Dubai.

How to get the special NOL card
To benefit from this landmark achievement, all a senior citizen has to do is take a copy of their Emirates ID and two photographs to the ticket counter. Once submitted, they will receive the special Blue NOL card.

Please spread the message in your communities and to the senior citizens you know who can benefit from this fantastic initiative.
