New podiums for security

Do you know the security protocol for non-residents at your community gates? Every vehicle, be it visitors or contractors must stop at the gates, where the security guard runs a battery of checks. He enquires about the villa they intend to visit, logs the vehicle details and cross-verifies with the villa resident before access is granted.

This task is performed by the security guard multiple times a day. The process takes time and is cumbersome, especially as they are on their feet throughout while holding the recording device.

To help the guards at our entrances, 24 gatehouses across Arabian Ranches were equipped with sturdy, fire, corrosion and rust resistant stainless-steel podiums to enable record keeping, thereby easing the burden and increasing efficiency.

Perfect floorwork, perfect footwork

There’s nothing worse than trying to show off your fancy dribbling skills only to have the ball ricochet off because it hit a crack. Bruised ego aside, cracked courts can also increase the risk of injuries. The outdoor basketball court at Alvorada 1 needed some TLC and we carried out two important repairs.

Cracked, bumpy flooring was replaced with synthetic rubber SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber) flooring. It is ideal for sports due to its elasticity, high tensile strength, resilience to strong impacts, and resistance to abrasions.

  • Secondly, acrylic paint was used for line marking because:
  • It is slip-resistant and water-resistant
  • It is non-toxic and safe around children
  • It is flexible and durable

Now that we’ve smoothened out the situation, it’s time to shoot some hoops!

Serene walks and smooth drives

To step up the community safety, we have undertaken some important improvements for your roads and walkways.

Restored interlocks: The interlocks along the pathways were repaired, re-laid and re-aligned to combat wear and tear through constant use, weather and the settlement of soil or roots growing underneath.

Benefits: Joggers, walkers, strollers and bikers can now enjoy smooth surfaces without the risk of tripping or falling with this round of protection.

Colour me new: 121 faded speed humps along with road markings were repainted. The yellow and white colours are visible even at night.

Benefits: We hope this compels commuters to notice and reduce their speed within 25 kmph on community roads.

New padel tennis court

The latest in fitness buzz, padel tennis has taken the city and us in the community by storm. No better time than to have a dedicated padel tennis court in Emirates Hills!

The game offers players an exceptional and exhilarating experience – both socially and competitively. Played largely in pairs, it is often described as a mix between tennis and squash. The court isn’t ordinary either – it features a meticulously crafted mono-fibre playing surface, that helps balls maintain the right speed and provide superior grip.

And what’s more? To enhance your nighttime sessions, we’ve added LED sports lighting too.

So, when you’re ready to play, you can book one-hour slots by logging into www.emiratesliving.ae or on the Emaar One app. The court is open from 7 AM to 10 PM and is for the exclusive use of residents only.

Bad news for mosquitoes

10 July 2021

We’ve installed five futuristic mosquito traps around the community lake.

The machines emit a concoction of human scents and carbon dioxide that skeeters in a 20-metre radius find irresistible.

Once they’re close enough the large fan sucks them into a holding chamber. There’s no getting out.

The tanks are powered by solar panels that keep the contraptions active all day and night.

It lights up automatically at night, so great for lighting purposes too.
